Personality Test

This is a unique personality test. There are only 4 questions, but the results are very interesting. I was kind of surprised by what some of my answers meant. Be honest and honor what pops into your mind when the questions present themselves.

Well, I Never.....

Have gotten a speeding ticket until this morning on the way home from car pool....within two miles of my home...did I mention that it is the LAST day of carpool, too?? The police officer was really nice, also. He dropped my ticket down to 9 over the speed limit. It is going to cost more to go to driving school than to pay the fine for the ticket. Seriously....

Happy Birthday Linda!!

I just want to wish Jeff's mom Linda a great birthday! Here are ten things I love about her:

1. She is always willing to help. Jeff abuses this when she comes to visit us!
2. She is always happy to see us, talk to us....she always has time for us!
3. She is a wonderful grandmother to my kids!!
4. She is a great listener. I know she is always there for me when I need her.
5. She is a great example of living the Gospel.
6. She is a giver.... on any occasion that I have admired anything of hers, she tries to give it to me.
7. She is adventurous...there are not too many 50-something-year-old's that are up for roller coasters and bungee jumping.
8. She is supportive.
9. She gave me Jeff....even though I feel like kicking him in the tush often...my life would not be what it is without him!
10. She loves me and I never have to doubt it!!
Sorry this is posted a little late; for some reason I thought the big day was tomorrow! Happy Birthday Linda! We love and miss you!! XOXO's!!

SERIOUSLY.....NO, SERIOUSLY!!

We are the sickest family we know!! Maddie had the throw-ups last Sunday night. Kaleb and Garet both have the throw-ups today. Want to study a new strain of the flu, come see us!! I think next year we'll try our luck WITHOUT the flu vaccine!! I don't think it could be any worse!! Seriously!

Terrible Two's......MY FOOT!!

Today, I left my family for a couple of hours and went shopping. As I was waiting in the drive-thru line at Wendy's, I noticed a mom carrying her six-month-old daughter out on her hip. I noticed that the baby was happy and carefree.....quite unlike our dear little 19 month old!! We have been very lucky to have two out of three very happy babies......Unfortunately, something seems to posess them around 18 months. (I read once that it is their inability to communicate at this point.) We have tantrum after tantrum after tantrum..... Maddie gets mad if someone else is eating something that looks different than hers ... she gets mad if I take my make-up away from her ... she gets mad if I try to take her bottle away after she has poked her nipple in not once, but twice in one day and caused floods in her bed ... she gets mad at the dog if he takes something from her that she has been trying to give him ... she gets mad if we take her out of the pantry and shut the door('No one' always leaves it open.....'no one' is a big rant for another day) ... she gets mad when we take her down from her high chair because she is throwing her food on the ground ... and then she gets mad that I won't let her take some of her food down with her to walk around the house with .... etc .... etc. I miss my sweet little baby girl!! She still comes out in little spurts, but we really wish she would stay around more permanently!! My boys were usually better around two years old, so I am really counting down here. Are girls about the same?? If not, I don't think I want the answer.....

My Goofy Kids!!

On Monday, I went to the gym for an hour and left the kids with Jeff supervising. Afterwards, Maddie greeted me at the door bright pink from head to toe. Apparently, she climbed on our kitchen table and "drank" Garet's full glass of red Kool-Aid. Jeff was oblivious....
On Thursday, Garet had a pajama party for the letter "P" at pre-school. He decided to wear his skin tight red Christmas pj's from several years ago. Then, he chose to bring his pillow and giant stuffed "puppy." Because he was so overladen with his "P" items, Jace had to assist him walking into the school's door. He had a blast eating two pink pancakes, pretzels, and Pezz candies!
Kaleb discovered Pokemon cards this week at school. Every day he came home with different ones. Today he told me that they are now banned from the school. Kids were bringing money from home to "buy" them off of one another. Kaleb was trading his; nonetheless, I am always glad that the school is ambitous of preventing potential problems. For some reason, he has also become fascinated with our umbrella. He sits on the couch watching t.v. with the umbrella open above him.

The Past Ten Days:

We have a crazy last ten days, so I am opting to make a list of our ten most memorable things that have happened. (This is not a list in priority order ... it is just in the order that I think of it.)

1. Garet advanced in Tae Kwon Do. He is now a white green striped belt Little Dragon. We are so proud of him!!

2. Kaleb participated in his first Tae Kwon Do competition. Nerves got the best of him for the "form" presentation part of the competition. On the spur of the moment, he chose to present a belt form that he had not practiced for a while and flubbed it a little. He was still awarded third place for his efforts. The last part of the competition was sparring. (For those of you that are not martial art savvy, it is when they dress up in protective gear and fight each other.) Unfortunately, Kaleb got paired with the kid that eventually won first place over all for his first round. His opponent was very aggressive and kicked Kaleb in a not-so-nice area(his cup dug in and left a huge welt ... he still has residual bruising a week later). Despite the pain, Kaleb kept fighting until the time was up. He wound up placing third in the sparring competition. He was pretty pleased that he came home with two bronze medals for his efforts!!

3. Our computer has been violated. We have been overcome with some type of virus called a Trojan. Apparently, Trojans mess up all of the controls and settings on one's system. Our computer thought that we liked explicit sites and materials. We were constantly bombarded with icky ads. Our computer is a bit better now, but is running slower than usual. It will not let me add pictures to this post for some reason. I will keep trying..... Dang Trojans!!!

4. Maddie has had the throw-ups for not one, but TWO days. I kept hoping it was a 24 hour bug, but my hopes kept getting dashed every time she started coughing. We are really hoping that no one else gets this in our house!! (So far, the last 24 hours have been trow-up free here.)

5. Maddie had the rotavirus about six months or so ago. We are learning that anytime her digestive tract is disrupted, it rears it's ugly head again. Seriously, does anyone know how long it takes for her intestines to get back to normal?? I went to the library today while she was down for a nap. As soon as I walked into the library doors, Kaleb called me and said: "Mom, Maddie had a blow-out in her crib and it is everywhere!" AAARGH!!!

6. Gizmo has ear infections. Yesterday, I took him to the vet for his yearly immunizations and he was running a fever. The vet checked his ears and there were things "growing" in them. Ick!! Now, I have to flush out his ears and put an antibiotic ointment in his canal 45 minutes later. I guess the 'flushing' solution must really itch or burn when I put it in. Gizmo runs around like a madman rubbing his ears on the carpet. We hope our puppy gets better soon!!

7. I cleaned my entire house this week ... even dusting.

8. I joined a book group with the women in my ward. Since I've been serving in Primary for the last little while, I really do not know very many people in my ward. I am trying to start making efforts ... I even went to the Relief Society service project this morning. They were sewing bibs for a nursing home ... I colored alphabet cards. I am really glad they think of people like me when they plan these activities!!

9. Our beloved prophet President Hinckley passed away. ( I know we all know this ... I just wanted to note this for posterity's sake.) I am so grateful for the faith and testimony that I am beginning to have of the Plan of Salvation ... I have always lacked in the faith department ... but, I think I am beginning to have the faith of a dust particle, maybe.

10. I just barely had to retype this from memory. I typed it once and accidently erased it.

Here's to the next ten days ... everyone keep your fingers crossed that it will get better and NOT worse for us!! =-)
