Our Christmas

Another Great Christmas!!

We had another great Christmas surrounded by family and loved ones. We were lucky and got to have Grandpa and Grandma Halliday at our house this year for all of the festivities! On Sunday, the eve of Christmas Eve, we went and watched a house whose lights were set to music. The kids and I loved it!! We probably could have watched all night! On Monday, we had a Christmas Eve late lunch up in Salt Lake City at Corey, Jacci & Sophie's house. We ate lots of yummy soups and pies. Later, all of the adults played Balderdash while the kids watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." It was a hoot to see how goofy everyone got as their brains were maxed out. While we were there, it snowed at least four inches, so driving home was a little precarious; gratefully, we all arrived home safely. I think now that Grandma and Grandpa have stayed with us once for a Christmas, they will always want to come to our house. Our kids slept in until almost 8:00am!! (It's crazy and happens to us every year!!) After a fun morning of opening presents and playing with our new toys, we had a family dinner at our house. The kids and dogs had lots of fun playing and wrestling after. We are so grateful for how close most of the Halliday family lives to us. I couldn't imagine a better way to spend all of our holidays!!

They don't get any cuter than this!!

At, Camry's Birthday dinner at the Mayan, Kaleb showed up sporting these adult sun glasses. Maddie liked them too!!
For those of you that haven't heard, our little princess started rolling her eyes at people last month. I honestly don't know where she gets this sassy-ness from!?!?!?!!

The Jazz Game!!

On Tuesday, December 11th, Garet got to go with Dad to the Utah Jazz basketball game. He had lots of fun. His favorite part was getting ice cream and getting 'tattoos' on his face! This is what he looked like when he came home!! Go Jazz!!

Kaleb Advances in Tae Kwon Do!!

Kaleb's School Christmas Program

You never know....

Last night as I was washing my face, getting ready for bed, I heard my dog (Gizmo) lapping something. Since he was on my bed, I wondered what he was drinking. I peered around the corner and saw that he was drinking the ice water on my night stand. I wonder how many times that I have shared my water with him???????

Decorating the Tree

Sunday afternoon, we finally got around to decorating the Christmas tree. Everyone tried to help....even Gizmo.
Maddie is going to love all of these pictures of her one day!

The finished product wasn't too bad. I am really trying to resist the urge to spread the branches more and spread out the ornaments. Garet likes to rearrange the ornaments whenever someone is on the computer.....so I think he is our "fixer" this year.

Gingerbread House

In keeping with the tradition of the season, we had to decorate a gingerbread house.
The boys insisted that I hurry and take pictures so they could eat it! I guess this is the look of sugar addicts before they score??

The Halliday Fort

On Saturday morning, we woke up to the first snowfall of the season (that we've been home for). From the get-go, Kaleb and Garet wanted to go out and build a fort. After several hours of Daddy doing most of the labor, this was the resulting structure.
The boys were a little disappointed that it wasn't bigger! Jeff was exhausted!
You may wonder what the small white chimney is on the roof of the fort. That would be my bath loofah! Gizmo hauls things out the doggy door when he knows he is not supposed to have them. Gotta love him!!
The boys had a blast!! Wonder what they'll come up with next time?? It is supposed to snow on and off for the next two weeks. We are hoping for a White Christmas!!
