Two Pigs Leave the Farm

"Big Boy" as we came to call the fattest male pig on the farm, finally reached the prime slaughter weight of 250 lbs. Jeff and the butcher attempt to nudge the two largest pigs towards the opening where the trailer awaits.
After several failed attempts, they resort to "hog wrastlen" and drag them out holding an ear and tail. Honestly, it was one of the worst sounds Bonnie has ever heard.

In three weeks, we should get a freezer full of meat. Unfortunately, Bonnie will remain too traumatized to eat any of it.

Maddie Masters Going Down the Stairs

This week, Maddie amazed us with a new ability.She knows how to "slide" down the stairs.
It is a great game for her!!

We congratulate her every time she does it!!!

We started our first day of school off right with our Happy Face Pancakes! Kaleb barely had time to eat and was out the door!! He left so fast that Mom forgot to put his lunch in his backpack!! Oops!!

Black Butt and the Gang

Thanks to Jeffrey we will be enjoying a delicious Thanksgiving ham. (for the next 5 years) Our beautiful sweet smelling pigs are weighing in at about 680 lbs. Only 320 lbs. to go before they are off to the slaughter house! Can't wait!
